General Cautions
OPEP is generally well tolerated, but caution or avoidance applies in certain conditions.
Consider Carefully
- Untreated pneumothorax.
- Recent significant haemoptysis.
- Acute severe exacerbation or respiratory distress.
- Certain cardiovascular instability.
- Recent facial, oral or oesophageal surgery.
Practice
Assess each patient; stop if adverse symptoms occur; do not use during an acute severe attack.
